Steps To Complete
Begin by stitching the five pieces of freestanding lace onto heavy duty water-soluble stabilizer using 40 wt. rayon thread for best results. Once you're done stitching, rinse and dry each piece completely. Use spray starch and an iron to stiffen them up a bit, if needed. (Here's more on stitching freestanding lace). |
Start by hot gluing your pieces together. I began by connecting the bottom of the sleigh to one of the side pieces by running a line of glue along the edges of the rectangle and lining up the pieces together at a perpendicular angle. Hold until dry. |
Next, attach the back rest of the sleigh chair, by gluing along the edges and holding in place. |
Set your foot piece of the sleigh chair similarly, by placing it perpendicular to the side of the sleigh with the hot glue, hold in place until dry. |
Finally, glue the other side of the sleigh together, aligning the blades parallel to each other. |
Your sleigh is done and ready for adventure! Loop a piece of fishing line through the lace to hang as an ornament, or pair up with the lace reindeer design! There's no wrong way to display Santa's sleigh. |
