We all like to accessorize with things that attract a bit of attention now and then. A statement necklace is the perfect way to add some unique flair with your look without doing something really odd like dyeing your hair red and pink... *cough* ... er. Right. Normal people don’t do that. So I’ve been told.
If you want a bold statement that can be glam or casual, this necklace is the perfect accent to all kinds of looks, pink hair optional. It’s super easy to put together!
Supplies
To make your necklace, you’ll need your lace piece from the Asymmetrical Bloom Necklace design, already stitched out, rinsed, and dried. Here's how to stitch freestanding lace. This particular lace design requires cotton thread.
You’ll also need:
- Chain
- Jump rings
- Lobster clasp
- Jewelry pliers and cutter
Designs Used
Basically, this all just connects into a big loop. Which direction you wear the large lace piece is up to you, I like it with the two curls by the rose facing up.
Trim a piece of chain and use a jump ring to add a piece to one of the edge leaves. Keep this piece longer than you need for now, so you can trim it to the length that best fits you once you try on your necklace.
Do the same to the edge of the little accent leaf, leaving some excess.
Trim a small piece of chain (about 2-3 inches) and use it to connect the large piece to the little accent leaf.
At this point, take your necklace and drape it around your neck. Where you cut your chain will depend on how you like it to fall around your neck. You may like it longer, or tighter like a choker. Mark that part on the chain and trim to size.
Once you have it measured and trimmed, add another jump ring and lobster clasp.
Your lace necklace is ready!
Casual enough to be worn on its own...
It looks great peeking out of jackets or blazers for a chic accent to a business casual look or a night on the town. You could even stitch the lace in white cotton and dye it any way you like, like we did with these lace pieces.
Simple and unique, this simple lace piece is a fresh accent to any look, pink hair or not!
