How to Unzip Design Files
When you download designs from your order history, the designs will come as zipped or compressed since they have multiple files and formats.
The benefit to zipped files is that they are compressed, and take up less space. If storage space is a concern for you, you can keep the designs zipped on your computer or external storage.
Embroidery machines cannot read zipped files. Most embroidery software cannot open zipped files either. You'll need to unzip the files before loading to your machine. This process is very fast and simple.
On a Windows or Microsoft computer, you can simply double-click on the zipped file to access the compressed files. Drag and drop these files from the zipped folder to another location. Alternatively, you can right-click on a zipped file and choose which program you want to use for opening.
After you've selected which program you want to use, a window should pop-up that contains your unzipped files. These can then be moved to another unzipped location.
This process is very similar on a Mac.
And you're done! You can now transfer the downloaded files(s) to your embroidery machine and start stitching your project.
